Community Programs

CLOTHES CLOSET AND FOOD PANTRY

We distribute used clothing and food items each Tuesday from 9:00 AM to Noon at the church. The distribution is handled by volunteers. Church members and friends contribute the items to be distributed.

NIAGARA AREA HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

First Presbyterian supports Niagara Area Habitat for Humanity in a variety of ways. Congregation members volunteer to work on House construction, while others volunteer to provide a Saturday lunch once a month to the folks working on the house in Niagara Falls.

A March 26, 2009 article in the Niagara Gazette about Habitat for Humanity commented: " Organizers say beyond learning new skills, there are plenty of other bonuses to being a Habitat volunteer. On a recent Saturday, workers were treated to a bountiful lunch of pasta and salad donated from First Presbyterian Church. The meal seemed to provide a perfect chance for the volunteers to chat and get to know each other."

LENTEN LUNCHES

Held each Thursday during Lent at 12 noon in the dining hall of the church. Features a delicious, home-style luncheon including beverage and dessert. Clergy from the community provide an inspirational message; and all this by 12:50PM so those employed outside the home can come on their lunch hour. Details are posted on this site's SPECIAL PROGRAMS page. These luncheons are open to the public, so bring a friend.
