Winter
Season Celebration
Sunday,
September 7
Our
church service changes to 11:00 AM on September 7th. Sunday School for
all ages is before the worship service, so if you forget and show up at
10:00 AM you will enjoy attending a class before church. Since you may
have grown used to getting up a little earlier in the summer, Why not
show up for our adult Sunday School Bible Study, or find another class
that caters to your age group.
To
celebrate the event we'll be having one of our famous potluck lunches
after the worship service. Please bring a dish to share. A free-will offering
will be taken to cover the cost of food items provided by the church;
in addition an offering will also be taken to support our Food Pantry.
See you there!
Harvest
Time Bazaar
Lockport Presbyterian Home
305-327 High Street, Lockport
Saturday,
September 20
10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Here
is a way to have an enjoyable Saturday while helping to support the Presbyterian
Home in Lockport. Theree's a wide variety of interesting stuff to do -
especially if you are a shopper at heart. Here are some of the things
that will be available: There will be Chili available to eat in or take
out. There will be at least 50 baskets in the Basket Raffle. If you enjoy
yard sales then check out the "Trash or Treasures" area on the
lawn - and a Plant Sale will be going on there, too. Or get hot dogs and
popcorn there ehile you shop. Of course there will be jewelry on sale for the glitz-lovers.
And lots more stuff to see, eat, and buy.
Crop
Hunger Walk
October
5
Each
year First Presbyterian Church hosts the local Crop
Hunger Walk. A large number of walkers from laical churches participate
in this sponsored walk. We walk around Goat Island and then return to
church for refreshments. If you'd like to sponsor a walker by mail - send
a check to the church made payable to "crop walk" to arrive before October
5th and it will be randomly assigned to one of our church's walkers in
the event. And thanks.
You've Wanted to Be A Salvation Army Bell-Ringer
This
is your chance. The Salvation Army is looking for Holiday Season volunteer
Bell-ringers. Many spots around the City are available, and jingeling
hours are flexible, and we think you'll pretty much have your choice of
which kettle to tend- especially if you register early. Contact the Church
Office for further information, or to register.
